Sauce Gardner responds to Dion Dawkins after he criticized the New York Jets’ defense.
A feud is brewing between Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins and the entire New York Jets defense, with Sauce Gardner responding to Dawkins’ recent criticisms on social media. Dawkins expressed his disdain for the Jets’ defense during an interview on VladTV, specifically calling out defensive lineman Micheal Clemons and the rest of the team, excluding Quinnen Williams, whom he respects. Dawkins accused Jets players of participating in the sport to appear cool rather than out of love for the game.
This isn’t the first time Dawkins has targeted the Jets, previously expressing his dislike for the team after an altercation with Clemons and labeling them as “very disrespectful.” Gardner, who took the high road after the previous incident, decided to respond this time, asserting his love for the game and his focus on providing for his family. He clarified that he has no issues with any player but mocked Dawkins for his rant in a now-deleted tweet.
The tension between the two teams escalated last season when Dawkins accused Clemons of disrespecting Josh Allen and the entire Bills offense. This led to a heated exchange in the tunnel after their second meeting in November, requiring teammates to intervene. The animosity sets the stage for an intense division rivalry, with both teams likely battling for first place in the AFC East next season. The anticipation for a potential rematch suggests that the NFL might consider featuring this matchup in a primetime slot.
