BOSTON CELTICS
The Boston Celtics continue to express interest in acquiring Blake Griffin, a former All-NBA forward. However, Griffin seems to be relishing his life beyond basketball.
Even though Blake Griffin has enjoyed his time with the Celtics and sees them as strong championship contenders this year, a reunion with the team seems improbable. Despite encouragement from players like Derrick White and Payton Pritchard for Griffin to return, recent interactions suggest that he is content with his life outside of basketball.
White and Pritchard revealed on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take that they have been urging Griffin to join the team, but he appears focused on savoring his time away from the NBA. Pritchard mentioned jokingly texting Griffin about a potential return, to which Griffin responded that he is currently enjoying his life.
During an appearance on the show, Griffin deflected questions about a potential return later in the season, emphasizing that he is simply enjoying his life at the moment. Despite Griffin’s decline in performance last season with the Celtics, the organization valued his presence. However, despite some interest in bringing him back, it seems unlikely at this point.
While the Celtics would be open to Griffin returning for the upcoming season, it does not appear to be in the plans as he evaluates his options. Nevertheless, Griffin expressed gratitude for his time in Boston, highlighting the incredible fan base. With one roster spot remaining, the Celtics have some flexibility, but it seems unlikely that Griffin will be filling it anytime soon.
