The Boston Celtics are actively pursuing the opportunity to host the NBA All-Star Game at TD Garden. After Jaylen Brown’s participation in the Slam Dunk contest and a strong performance by both Brown and Jayson Tatum during the recent All-Star Game, the Celtics have revisited the idea of bidding to host the midseason event.

Celtics president Rich Gotham revealed that preliminary conversations have taken place with the NBA, the city of Boston, TD Garden, and other stakeholders. The last time Boston hosted the NBA All-Star Game was 67 years ago, making this bid significant for the city. Tatum and Brown, both in their primes, present a compelling case for showcasing the Celtics’ talent on their home court.

While the desire to host the All-Star Game is evident, logistical considerations such as hotel accommodations, convention center availability, and other factors must be addressed. The Celtics face competition from other teams vying for hosting rights, and the process involves multiple complexities.

Despite the challenges, Gotham expressed optimism about the potential bid, acknowledging that it’s early in the process but expressing hope for a successful outcome. While the Golden State Warriors are set to host the 74th annual NBA All-Star Game next year, the Celtics remain hopeful about bringing the event to Boston in the future.
